Tandridge’s Kathy steps up to chief executive of Stroud council

Tandridge District Council’s Strategic Director of Resources, Kathy O’Leary, has been appointed Chief Executive of Stroud District Council.

This opportunity builds on Kathy’s 32 years’ experience in local government and also marks a new chapter personally as she and her husband will be making the move to Gloucestershire.

Kathy said: “I am looking forward to this exciting new opportunity.
“I have greatly enjoyed my time at Tandridge District Council. I will remain in post until November and will working closely with Louise Round and Council Leader Martin Fisher to put in place a robust plan to ensure a smooth transition of my work and very importantly, that full support for staff is achieved as we deliver the Customer First programme.

“Finally, I would like to thank all the staff and councillors for their support during my time here. I am proud of the work we have done to transform this council into a modern, dynamic and sustainable authority which always strives to be aspirational for its residents and businesses.”

Councillor Fisher said: “We are very sad to see Kathy go, but can absolutely understand that this move for her represents an exciting opportunity too good to pass up. Kathy has been a professional member of staff who has worked tirelessly to help support the delivery of many key Council initiatives in the past two years, including our transformation programme. I am very proud of the innovative work we are doing here at the Council. This is being noticed outside the district and this appointment is recognition of the calibre of our staff. I would like to wish Kathy all the very best in her future role.”
