Guest speaker at this year’s Oxted School senior prizegiving was former student Neil Kent, who was raised in Lingfield and attended the village primary school.
A married man with two children, Neil was at Oxted School from 1996-2002 and after studying business management at university working in Singapore, retuned to the UK with a PR and marketing career with the NFL, Chelsea FC, Adidas, and launched his own marketing and PR business, Chapter Communications in Guildford.
Before Neil helped hand out the evening’s prizes and spoke, the packed main hall at Oxted School was treated to music on the harp from Joanna Readwin, the headteacher’s report from Nicola Euridge, Louis Hobson playing his composition, A Snow Storm on piano, head girl Emily Budgen singing Vaughan Williams’ The Infinite Shining Heavens.
And Ellie d’alexandro, Ella Dawson, Kirsty Eagles and Isobel Van Wyk spoke on a school trip to Rome.
Neil Kent was introduced by Emily Budgen and head boy Ben Gibbs and thanked by deputy head girl Charlotte Strange and deputy head boy Charlie Watkins.
The formal proceedings ended with Charlie Watkins playing One Step Beyond on saxophone.
