A man suspected of spraying graffiti onto a building in Edenbridge has been arrested at the scene.
At around 6.55pm on Sunday 25 November patrols reported seeing a person carrying out criminal damage in the Station Road area.
They stopped and detained a 31-year-old local man. A number of spray paint cans were seized as well as a quantity of cannabis. The suspect remains in custody.
Inspector Nick Finnis said: ‘Criminal damage including graffiti can really have a negative impact on the quality of life for residents. It causes upset to many people and can make parts of our towns look unattractive, or make people feel unsafe and increase their fear of crime.
‘On this occasion a suspect was arrested thanks to the alertness of my officers. I would like to reassure residents we are also continuing to work closely with our partner agencies to reduce the number of such incidents and identify those who may be responsible.’
