Staff and pupils of Limpsfield CE Infant School will be wishing their head teacher, Jennifer Baird, a fond farewell at the end of this Autumn term, after 12 years in the post.
Jenny, whose association with the school began 28 years ago when her own children started there, is retiring after a teaching career spanning 41 years.
Under her leadership Limpsfield CE Infant School has increased its intake numbers, undergone extensive building improvements, developed outdoor learning including its own Forest School and has been rated as Outstanding in all categories by Ofsted.
There have been two outstanding SIAMS inspections during her time as head.
The Chairman of governors, Sue Vodicka, said: “ Jenny has been at the heart of ensuring Limpsfield School is a lively and happy school, very much part of the village community. Hundreds of local children have received the best possible start to their education at this popular school and we thank Jenny for her dedication and commitment whilst wishing her every happiness in her retirement.”
