Lingfield Parish Council is about to submit a planing application to improve disabled access at the village railway station.
Listed here are details of the engineering work affecting Southern services between 8 and 27 September.
AFTER around nine months of waiting, new doors to the entrance of Lingfield railway station are, as we write, being fitted.
The doors were damaged back in November 2017 and the delay in reinstating them was reportedly down to the new doors having to come from Germany. This was later said to be from Bulgaria.
The boarded up entrance to the railway station had many commuters and residents taking to social media to brand it as ‘an eysore’ and an ‘embarrassment’ to the village. Early reports also said that East Surrey MP Sam Gyimah had joined in the lobby to get the new doors installed.
